First principles knowledge

We know guidelines and standards. Having sat on national standards committees and national and international working groups, our team has a sound understanding of best practices. We also understand the principles behind these documents and are equipped to develop fit for purpose solutions to assist you in delivering safer roads.

Our team specialises in all aspects of Road Safety Audits, Safe System and Star Rating for Designs assessments. With extensive experience gained through tenures at the Australian Road Research Board (ARRB), the National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO) in both national technical guidance development and specialist road safety consulting projects globally, we bring proven expertise in reducing crash risk.

We provide support across a wide range of activities requiring road safety crash risk reduction, including road design reviews, heavy vehicle access assessments, thematic motorcycle safety audits, network safety assessments, universal access, and the development of road safety strategies.

Mitigating the Risk of Cyclist Strikes on High-speed Roads

This abstract presents the concepts of a method to identify and prioritise high-risk locations for cyclist safety treatments on high-speed roads. The focus is on reducing the likelihood of cyclists being struck by passenger or heavy vehicles, whether travelling along midblock sections, navigating intersections, or passing through highway interchanges. The methodology aims to support the implementation of targeted, cost-effective countermeasures that mitigate cyclist crash risk in scenarios where physical separation or off-road cycleways are not yet feasible.
